FAQs

Question 1:
Will the Basic Authentication solution being developed use/support MFA?

Answer 1:
Yes, it will support MFA. However, the WinMan system only interfaces with the email system you have setup, so if you have MFA setup it will use it, if not it won't. 

Question 2:
Are emails being sent by Winman via SQLServer Sendemail covered? E.g. process events?

Answer 2:
SQLServer will not support modern authentication but if you ensure SMTP auth is enabled on your exchange online it will continue to work. Although you should look at changing the process events to send emails using our new email scheduler.

Question 3:
I have something custom for email monitor i.e. it's not standard . How is that covered?

Answer 3:
All custom email monitor code has been included in the rewrite of the email monitor code to support modern authentication.

Question 4:
Will the issue created from the previous upgrades be fixed in these recent updates? Buttons cut off screen, checkboxes missing etc.?

Answer 4:
Please alert support and specify where you are seeing these bugs.

Question 5:
When will the new versions be available?

Answer 5:
Roll out is available from Friday 16th September 2022, please contact support to arrange a date and time that suits you best. We are very aware you may require upgrading/patching over an evening or weekend.

Question 6:
Do you have a back up plan in place in the event the patch is not ready before October 1st?

Answer 6:
If this is a concern for you, or your worrying you'll be unable to upgrade by the deadline please raise a case with support who will be able to work with you to recommend the best course of action.

Question 7:
Our system currently sends emails out of WInMan via Outlook using StandardOutlook as the send method - will this stop working on October 1st?

Answer 7:
Yes, you will b required to upgrade/patch to V8.0002.00, or speak to support to discuss your options.
