V8.0004.04 - Highlights

  • Manufacturing Orders: Lot Completion Numbers
    • Two new fields on a product's serial numbering tab, 'Lot Number Prefix' and 'Lot Number Length'
    • If these are not blank, when finishing a batch of stock on an MO the lot number will be generated based on these two fields.  That lot number is saved against the MO header so any subsequent batches being finished will have the same lot number.

  • Manufacturing Orders: Move Lot Number from WIP Components
    • A new flag is introduced on the classifications module called 'Move Lot Number'.
    • When finishing an MO, if one or more components in WIP have a classification with this new flag enabled, the lot number of the finished batch will be inherited from the components.  If more than one lot number is used, the lot number of the finished batch will be a combination of those lot numbers separated by '|', for example, 'COM001|COM002'.

  • Structures: Control alternative components via the structure
    • Using a new system option called 'Swap Out Component controlled by Structure' the user will see a new right-click menu item on structures called 'Alternative Components'.  This action shows a list of alternative components set up against the product record of that component, which they can then include to indicate they are available to swap on an MO.
    • If the system option is enabled, on the MO the user will only be able to select the included alternatives.
    • For example, Product 'Chair' has a component on it's structure called 'A'.  That product A has three alternatives, B, C and D.  On the structure, using the new menu item the user selects B and C only as alternatives to A.  On the MO, the user will not be able to swap A for D.

  • Production Scheduler: Recalculate process times
    • A new system option has been introduced called 'Recalculate process times when moving a process between different Unit Time activity centres'
    •  With this system option enabled, processes moved between activity centres which have different units of time set up against them will be recalculated to contain the destination unit of time.
    • For example, two activity centres, two processes.  One activity centre records time in minutes, the other in hours.  Process 1 takes 60 minutes, process 2 takes 2 hours.  When moving process 1 to the other activity centre, the 60 minutes of the original process will be converted into 1 hour on the second activity centre.  If this profile is not enabled, a process that takes 60 minutes being moved to this secondary activity centre would take 60 hours instead.

  • Build to Ship: Pick fulfil from a single location
    • A new product setting has been added called "Pick Fulfil Single Location".  If this is set to Y, and the product is set up for build-to-ship, the system will try to issue stock from a single location instead of using standard picking logic.
    • Additionally, a new flag was added for put away called "Combine Pick face for Picking" - if this flag is ticked then separate locations will be considered as one for picking.
    • Example of the product setting set to N:

      Effective Date

      Qty o/s

      Location

      Lot Number

      01/08/2023

      5

      MAIN

      A

      02/08/2023

      5

      YARD

      B

      03/08/2023

      5

      YARD

      C

      • Scenario where the product setting is disabled, for a quantity of 7 - 5 is taken from lot number A and the remaining 2 are taken from lot number B in a different location (standard logic).
      • Alternative Scenario 1 where the product setting is enabled, for a quantity of 7 - 5 is taken from lot B and the remaining 2 are taken from lot C as the full quantity can be found in location 'YARD'.
      • Alternative Scenario 2 where the new put away flag to combine pick face for picking is set to true, our locations of 'MAIN' and 'YARD' are considered as one location so 5 is taken from lot A and 2 is taken from lot B.

  • Work to list
    • Right-clicking a manufacturing order on the work-to-list module now contains 'go to' actions to navigate directly to either the MO, the product or the structure.

  • Stock Counting
    • Export to Excel tool has a new flag on the wizard called 'Include X Class' - if this is set to false no products with a cycle count class of 'X' will be exported.  If this is set to true, all products regardless of cycle count class will be exported.

  • Various bug fixes
