The 'Product Data Management' function will allow storage all current and past product information for easy access. The product data can be used throughout the customer life cycle from initial sales prospecting or design to providing a maintenance service.
All the data as associated with initial project bids, authorization of design, estimated and actual tooling costings, sample sign-offs, product testing, Bills of Material, process requirements and even suppliers and sub-contractors can all be stored within the system.
Users can create accurate and precise bills of materials for unique orders. This removes the need to have extensive files of potential product combinations or a manual generation of unique combinations of data.
Within WinMan you will be able to create different size, color and style matrices where users can quickly and efficiently create 'configured' products within quotations and sales orders and a distinctive bill of material. Features, options and complex rules and dependencies can be easily managed without the need for computer programming resources.
Standard product requirements can be predetermined within the system to decrease the chance of missing components off the quotation or sales order. Product components are linked to the built-in inventory database allowing the sales team to provide customers with factual lead times and an accurate and flexible available to promise (ATP) algorithm.
Configured product sales can be translated into commercial reports to highlight sales trends such as the most popular style or which configurable range has the least sales. This data can help with future R&D, marketing and sales decisions.
Full traceability activities such as product life cycle management, enhancement version controls, aftercare, and end of life management can be effortlessly carried out.
The aftercare team will know which replacement part(s) the customer requires from looking at the product specifications stored within the system.
For version controls and end of life management, customers can be segmented into groups by the products they have purchased. The segmented group can then be informed of the changes or status updates of the products they have purchased.
Inventory policy controls can be set to facilitate scenarios like made to order, ship from stock and customer specific contractual commitments. For example, a workflow can be set to send an automatic purchase order to a specific supplier when stock of the item decreases to a certain level.
