Production Control and Planning
Controlling the flow of production through the shop floor is vital to any successful business, and with the WinMan ERP system this is an achievable goal. Using either MRP, back to back or manually generated manufacturing orders (or a combination of all three) the loading on the shop floor can be seen and manipulated using and a graphical planning board and Gant charts. Detailed planning will be carried out on a weekly or daily basis using drag and drop, within the planning board, to smooth the capacity constraints.
Shop Floor
Work can be communicated to the shop floor team leaders, or directly to the operators, using SFDC (Shop Floor Data Collection) kiosk touch screen technology; the SFDC screens show live data and therefore reflect order amendments in real time. Using SFDC the users can book on and off processes or manufacturing orders, entering quantities completed or scrapped, and any quality information such as first off/last off or dimension tolerances.
Lean
Using lean practices the shop floor can be controlled using KanBan manufacturing; KanBan is a manual, lean process, but using WinMan in Kiosk Mode the operators can simply record the activity allowing stock and financial information to be updated automatically, giving management full, real time, visibility of the shop floor.
